  • Salt and pepper (optional)
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Garlic, herbs, or other seasonings for added flavor (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preparation: Bring the bison steak to room temperature and season it with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings like steak seasoning blend or Montreal steak seasoning. 
  • Preheat the BBQ grill: Preheat your BBQ grill to high heat. If you are using charcoal, make sure the coals are covered in white ash.
  • Sear the steak: Place the seasoned steak on the hot grill and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side for a good crust. 
  • Adjust heat: Reduce heat to medium-high and cook to your preferred doneness, roughly 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare. 
  • Check temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches your desired level. 
  • Rest and serve: Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice and serve with your favorite BBQ sides, such as garlic bread, grilled potatoes, or green salads.
